Fucking around with someone else’s art

I have a problem...I love the Pre-Raphaelites! Ever since college in fact in art school my friends and I formed a group called the Post-Pre-Raphaelites. And as far as my books are concerned they seem to fit my mood and what I write better than any other artists hence I seem to gravitate to them every time I need a book cover. But this time I got a little naughty. I added some graphic elements to J. Waterhouse's orphan work...'Lamia' apparently there are a lot of versions of them...and this one is 'missing', I only mess with what's in the public domain. Also lucky for me the first novel is embellished with a painting that is completely lost...sad for the artist but glad I am that it existed on wiki. Anyway, so pleased with the cover! The proof itself is another thing. Not pleased with the scads of little boo boos, grammar thingies and annoying little plot holes that I am cleaning up...after going over and over it I still am amazed to see how many things I have to clean up. C'est la vive!  But I have a deadline for myself of Thanksgiving so lots of time to get it back from my readers and finalize.
